About Shirley's
Growing up with Crohn’s disease, food was never just food for me. What I ate had a direct connection to how I felt, how I lived, and how I understood my body.
Live cultured yogurt became deeply ingrained in my daily diet from a young age. Made with a simple base of dairy, honey, and specific live cultures, it became part of a routine centered around consistency, simplicity, and supporting the body from the inside out. Over time, that routine became part of the path that ultimately led me into remission.
That experience shaped the way I think about health, food, and the role of beneficial bacteria in the body. Live cultures help create a yogurt that is active, alive, and connected to the health of the gut, which plays an important role in overall wellness.
Shirley’s was created from that story, not as a trend, but as something lived. It is rooted in the belief that simple ingredients, thoughtful processes, and accessible cultured foods can be part of building a healthier community.
